FAQ

Below is a compilation of our commonly asked questions. Should you have any inquiries that are not addressed here, please don't hesitate to contact us via our Contact page!

  • How long does it take for my monument to come in after the order is approved?

Any memorial that is in our inventory will be completed within 6-8 weeks after the order is approved. Stones we do not stock or custom orders take 120 days to come in and then we normally have to etch them, so allow a little more time. Our turn around is still some of the best in the business.

  • Does the cemetery in which the monument will be placed have rules or restrictions concerning the style and size options?

Yes. Most cemeteries have specific regulations regarding the style, size and shape of memorials they’ll allow. Some restrictions vary within the same cemetery. We don’t expect you to know all these details, or to know the exact location of the grave. We work with the cemetery directly to make sure we are following all the bylaws. Many of the cemeteries we keep bylaws on file.

  • Do we need to wait any length of time after a death before ordering a memorial?

You should purchase a memorial when you are ready. Keep in mind if you are trying to have a monument installed by a certain day (such as Memorial Day, a birthdate, anniversary date, or for a family reunion) you will need to have a monument ordered 2-4 months prior depending on if you are purchasing something in stock or something custom. Try not to let anyone rush you, and take your time. You will not feel any pressure from us. We are here to assist you on your time frame. This is perhaps one of the longest-lasting purchases you will ever make. We will take you through the process step-by-step… at your pace.

  • My cemetery is requiring a foundation? What is that exactly?

A foundation is either a concrete border around the stone or a granite pad. Concrete is always the cheapest way to go. The granite pads are always more attractive. This keeps the stone from shifting and sinking. Many cemeteries are now requiring families to have this placed while installing stones. We do offer both.

  • How much should I expect to pay for a memorial?

The price for monuments varies and will depend on the size of the monument selected, how it is finished, the shape you select and what color of granite is used. Other additional such as ceramic portraits and flower vases will add to the cost of the monument. Also, many cemeteries have fees for installation, foundation charges, inspections and a fee for perpetual care that factor in to the total cost of a monument.

  • When do you pay for your monument?

After the monument is designed and approved 50% down must be placed at ordering. The balance is due upon completion. We do offer a payment plan, easing the financial burden.

  • What is the process for adding a final date?

Someone in the family contacts us, fills out a simple form, and pays ($300) for the on-site inscription. We do not make it a practice of removing a previously installed monument. We take great care to be sure the fonts, style and size match perfectly. We will make contact when the service has been completed.

  • Why should I buy a memorial in advance?

We highly recommend Pre-need memorial stones. Designing and purchasing a memorial in advance makes the process easier and more enjoyable when you can personally create how people will remember you. After a death in the family, emotions can run high. A Pre-need memorial relieves loved ones of additional stress during the grieving process.

  • What is the difference between marble and granite stones?

Marble is a much softer material than granite. Our recommendation is for memorials made from granite for its choice of colors, hardness & durability. We are more than capible of working with both along with bronze and slate.

  • What types of payment do you accept?

We accept check, cash, money order, zelle and credit/debit cards. We now charge an additional 3% for all credit card payments. We also have a payment plan for families.
